It was another exciting race at the Ouachita Challenge. This unique, two-day event takes place in Oden, Arkansas and covers more than 60 miles of mountain bike touring and racing on both the Ouachita and Womble Trails. Known for both challenging climbs and scenic views of the Ouachita Mountains and valleys, Mountain Valley Spring Water was there throughout the weekend to keep racers hydrated and help support the many great volunteers and organizations who make this event such a success.
The Ouachitas have been the source of our premium American spring water since 1871. So we do everything we can to help preserve and protect this pristine natural resource. Each year the Ouachita Challenge raises around $25,000 to our Ouachita neighbors including:
- Polk County Developmental Center
- Oden Woods & Water Club
- CASA of the Ouachita Region
- Ouachita Amateur Radio Association
- FoOT (Friends of the Ouachita Trail)
- Rural Fire Departments of Cove, Vandervoort, Joplin, & Sims
- Various Oden Organizations
In addition, Mountain Valley raised more than $2,000 this year, to date, for the Friends of the Ouachita Trail (FoOT) through a tee shirt campaign. FoOT is a non-profit created by trail users to maintain the Ouachita National Recreation Trail as a healthy and enjoyable outdoor recreational asset. FoOT is organized exclusively to provide assistance for the maintenance, enhancement and use of the Ouachita National Recreation Trail. Join us in our mission by donating to FoOT by purchasing a Ouachita Trail T-Shirt, where we donate 100% of the proceeds.
