On Sunday, June 10, 2019, Mountain Valley Spring Water and Bentonville’s most prominent chefs came together with No Kid Hungry for an important cause: ending childhood hunger in North America.
“It’s a community that cares so much about food and family and sharing a meal means something” says Jill Davis, Share Our Strength Senior Vice President of the national campaign, No Kid Hungry. “That’s where companies like Mountain Valley Spring Water are really making a huge difference.”
Nearly 1 in 6 children in this country struggles with hunger. No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Since the campaign’s launch, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger to more than one billion meals.
The spectacular dinner, hosted at The Hive at 21c Museum Hotel, featured food prepared by Host Chef Matthew McClure with guest chefs Gerard Craft, Jerrmy Gawthrop, Travis McConnell, and Amanda Rockman.
This will be Executive at The Hive, Chef McClure’s fourth fundraising dinner with No Kid Hungry to raise money that directly impacts feeding communities by introducing people to experience an Arkansas culinary treat. “To me, Mountain Valley has to be a part of that conversation because it’s a great Arkansas beverage,” says McClure.
The dinner also drew a number of notable attendees, including Tom and Olivia Walton, Steuart Walton, Tim and Ashley Robinson and Mayor Stephanie Orman.
The Bentonville No Kid Hungry Dinner raised enough to provide over 1.3 million healthy meals to children in need.
