We recently had the distinct pleasure of working with Charleston bartending pro Megan Deschaine as part of our partnership with The Local Palate for the Toast to Spoleto event. Megan handcrafted summery Italian-influenced drinks featuring flavored sparkling spring waters from Mountain Valley Spring Water, including Key Lime Twist, White Peach, and Blackberry Pomegranate.
The cocktails included the With Love Linda featuring Hat Trick Gin, bell pepper, tomato, basil, raspberry and Mountain Valley White Peach Sparkling Spring Water; the Italiano Al Caribe with Rum, Aperol, Pineapple, Passionfruit, Orgeat and Mountain Valley Key Lime Twist Sparkling Spring Water; and The Free Spirit alcohol-free mocktail featuring watermelon, green tea, vanilla and Mountain Valley Blackberry Pomegranate Sparkling Spring Water. With Love Linda by Megan Deschaine
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Bell Pepper Infused Hat Trick Gin
- .75 oz Raspberry Syrup
- .5 oz Lemon Juice
- 3 slices of Heirloom Tomato
- 5-6 Basil leaves
- 1.5 oz Mountain Valley White Peach Sparkling Spring Water
Directions:
- In a cocktail tin, muddle tomato and basil.
- Add all of the ingredients except water.
- Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.
- Top with Mountain Valley White Peach Sparkling Spring Water and garnish with an expressed basil leaf.
Italiano Al Caribe by Megan Deschaine
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Caribbean Rum
- .5 oz Pineapple Juice
- .25 oz Passionfruit juice
- .25 oz Orgeat
- 2 oz Mountain Valley Key Lime Twist Sparkling Spring Water
- Float .5 oz Aperol
Directions:
- In a cocktail tin, add all of the ingredients except the Aperol & Mountain Valley and shake with ice.
- Pour Aperol in empty glass and fill with crushed ice.
- Add 2 oz of Mountain Valley Key Lime Twist Sparkling Spring Water directly to the cocktail in the shaking tin and strain into glass.
- Garnish with lime wheel and mint bouquet.
The Free Spirit mocktail by Megan Deschaine
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Watermelon Juice
- .75 oz Madagascar Vanilla Syrup
- 1 oz Green Tea
- .5 oz Lime Juice
- .5 oz POM juice
- 2 oz Mountain Valley Blackberry Pomegranate Sparkling Spring Water
Directions:
- In a cocktail tin, add all of the ingredients except Mountain Valley.
- Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass.
- Top with Mountain Valley Blackberry Pomegranate Sparkling Spring Water and garnish with fennel and blackberry.
